Insurance Fraud Charges for West New York, NJ Man After Altering Police Reports

According to John Heinis of Hudson County View and Hudson county Prosecutor, Esther Suarez, 31-year-old Anthony Ayala of West New York, NJ has officially been charged with insurance fraud for altering police reports in a fraudulent claim stating that this vehicle was insured during a June 2023 crash.

The investigation determined that Ayala purchased a Progressive Insurance auto policy on June 27th, 2023, and immediately filed a claim alleging his Jeep Wrangler was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Allamuchy Township, NJ.

To support his claim, he then submitted New Jersey State Police reports that had been altered, as the actual collision occurred one day prior to him purchasing the policy, on June 26th, 2023, rendering the vehicle uninsured at the time of the accident.

Ayala was charged with insurance fraud, two counts of forgery, and two counts of tampering with public records, and was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City, New Jersey last month.
